When time is of the essence, the ability to engage quickly without going through IT Operations is helpful. Cloud computing makes this feasible. Coupled with our expertise in encrypted data handling and movement, it is also secure. We can take a data set, for instance as a set of .csv or .xls files, upload the data to a schema we build in the cloud, and use analysis tools to quickly make sense of the data. We can then make visualizations (online reports) available to your user community. Usually, no IT operations staff are needed.

Hosted, cloud-based reporting/analysis platform — this typically follows a cloud-based Quick Start. When our clients see the initial reporting and analysis quickly up and running in the cloud, they want to keep the solution running, with periodic refreshes of the data from its various sources. We then work to automate data flows and harden and finalize features of the cloud-based application. We can operate the solution outside your data center for as long as you wish. The reports can frequently be integrated with existing applications, even if the applications themselves are hosted in your data center.

Data acquisition services — this calls for acquiring data from structured and unstructured sources, and setting up reliable business processes for the inbounding of data. We have a variety of automation strategies for getting data. For instance, we have tools for scraping data sets directly off website, for those situations where your partners only make data available to you via web pages. Once the data acquisition is fully automated, DASHbay’s global reach allows us to set up reliable but low-cost operations centers, for monitoring the data inflow and responding rapidly to data outages which might be caused by changing conditions. For example, if your partner’s website changes, the data might be on a different page. Our team can respond quickly, to get the data pipeline open again quickly.

In-data-center solution deployment — our tools of choice play nicely with application development you’ve likely done on your own. We prefer Java technology, open source tools, and community standards. We believe in source control, and in protecting your intellectual property which we develop for you. Our solution may start in the cloud but eventually be fully deployed within your data center. The choice is up to you and your requirements. We can collaborate with you to make it happen, and turn over the maintenance and enhancement of the solution to you, if you prefer.

Integration of BI into existing applications — we have made a specialization of integrating the products of our development efforts into your web properties and other applications. Our lightweight, Java-based BI technologies have several advantages over larger, more monolithic commercial alternatives. For one, our technologies are typically open source, so we can modify them as needed to help them play nicely with your existing applications. Also, the same collaborative mindset needed to build good open-source software platforms tends to favor component-based technology, in which integration is by design, rather than a workaround.

Further development of deployed solutions — of course, the more we work with your organization, your business, and your data model, the easier it becomes for you and for us to get great results. Our clients define the length of our relationship. We can turn over our initial development to you when it’s ready, and you can maintain it.
